Helping those who
help animals.

OUR MISSION

American Animal Alliance was formed to support and empower animal rescue organizations, bridge collaboration among communities, shelters and humane societies to advocate for stronger animal rights, protections and education for care.

OUR VISION

A future where every animal rescue works together to ensure compassion, care, and justice for all animals.

Community Cat Shelter Project

Local Hearts. Warm Shelters. Forgotten Lives.

Donated Shelters For Those In Need

Shelters are donated and available in limited quantities. Requests are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis, with careful consideration given to the urgency of each situation. If cats appear to be unspayed or unneutered, information provided may be shared with local Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs to help support humane population control efforts.

Requests from Harrison County, Ohio will take priority, however as support grows and additional supplies become available, we have expanded this program to take requests from surrounding counties. Shelter pick up locations will be determined once request is submitted, however current pick-up locations are only offered in Scio, OH and Cadiz, OH.

To help us continue this program and track shelter placements, recipients are required to follow us on social media and share a photo of the shelter once it has been placed. This also helps raise awareness for community cat care.

Pet Pantry

Dedicated to the memory of E.D. Shumaker

Beloved teacher, mentor, and lifelong member of the Harrison County community. Known for his quiet kindness and compassion, E.D. faithfully cared for local animals and inspired generations of students. May this pantry continue his legacy of service to both people and the animals they love.

In partnership with other rescue organizations, we’ve been proud to support several meaningful projects on their behalf that improve daily care for animals and the people who serve them.

Our Working Cat Program provides healthy, spayed/neutered, vaccinated community cats with safe outdoor homes on farms, barns, garages, workshops, warehouses, and other rural properties where they can provide natural rodent control. Completing this request does not guarantee placement. Each property is reviewed individually to ensure it provides a safe, appropriate environment for both the cat and the property owner.
